Forum editorial: Moorhead Bike Night gets rosesPrairie roses: To organizers, specifically Moorhead City Council member Nancy Otto, for putting together Bike Night in Moorhead last week. This first of the monthly summer event was, by all accounts, a great success. Weather was perfect, and motorcycle enthusiasts from across the metro and beyond came to the city’s Center Mall. The motorcycles really dressed up the lot, and it appeared all had a very good time. It’s a nice event, as Moorhead, Fargo and West Fargo have hosted monthly auto nights for the past few summers, and Moorhead has distinguished itself with Bike Night.
Leafy spurge: To the holier-than-thou folks who are trying to make Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney into some sort of monster/bully because he engaged in stupid activity when he was a youth in school. Romney is said to have roughed up and cut the bleach-blond hair of a fellow student while both were at an exclusive private school in Michigan in the 1960s. That’s more than 40 years ago, and Romney certainly is not alone in having engaged in a silly prank that went too far. But if everyone in – or out – of the public eye had his or her record scrutinized for bad youthful behavior, few would be found innocent. Whether one likes or dislikes Romney, the issue is a distraction. Let’s get on with the serious aspects of the campaign.
