Richland Lutheran celebrates 100 yearsWALCOTT, N.D. – Richland Lutheran Church, 6147 172nd Ave SE, rural Walcott, commemorates 100 years in its current building with a celebration on May 20.
Festivities start at 10 a.m. with coffee, fellowship and choir practice for anyone who would like to sing. Worship service starts at 11 a.m. with special music by the praise band, choir and Sunday school. A traditional meatball dinner follows, including lefse, rømmegrøt and rhubarb dessert. Everyone is invited to join in the celebration.
The 133-year-old congregation is known for its annual lutefisk supper, which draws up to 1,100 people and is held the last Friday in October. This year, the Men’s Club will serve the 80th supper on Oct. 26.
