How could school take on millions?

I would like to express my concern with the fiscal responsibility shown by the Fargo School District. My perception of a school district is the running of a very important function on a limited budget where the revenue is supplied by the state and individuals within the district. It is not a for-profit organization that has the means to either invest money in outside adventures or provide a means for other companiesorgani-zations to use as an asset.

At this time, the state of North Dakota is having a vote that could possibly abolish property taxes. It is tough to not consider this option when you read about your school district possibly losing $5 million on an investment that not only does not exist in your district but not in your own state.

How can this even be a legal process for the individuals in charge of the school district to allocate these funds? How is it possible this much funding is around to even consider a Bluestem bailout in the first place?
