Minnesota bank robbery suspect wishes he had made NFL

INVER GROVE HEIGHTS, Minn. — A Twin Cities bank robbery suspect is lamenting that he never made the NFL and got rich.

Former college football player Christopher L. Miller was charged Monday with robbing a Bremer Bank in Inver Grove Heights May 2.

The complaint says Miller passed a threatening note to a teller, then took money and fled.

Police obtained a photo of Miller from video surveillance and tracked him to his apartment. He was arrested and the money recovered.

Miller was a defensive back at Missouri State University several years ago. The Star Tribune reports the 27-year-old told police he intended to play in the NFL but was derailed by injury.

The complaint says Miller said he was “struggling with the fact that he is not a rich and successful football player.”
