Pedestrian identified in fatal Clay County accidentDOWNER, Minn. - A 45-year-old Barnesville man has been identified as the pedestrian who was struck and killed by a pickup truck Tuesday night near Downer.
Authorities say Jeff Lueck was struck about 9:53 p.m. on Highway 9 near County Road 10.
The Minnesota State Patrol said Lueck was walking along the center of the blacktop road when he stepped in front of a northbound 2001 Dodge Ram, driven by Jace Nosal, 16, of Barnesville.
Lueck died at the scene.
Sgt. Jesse Grabow with the Minnesota State Patrol said investigators are confident that Lueck’s death was a suicide, but added that the investigation is still ongoing.
