Letter: Obviously, war is against womenI am disappointed that The Forum would actually publish Michael A. Ross’ letter stating the “role” women are supposed to have in this society (May 6).
It makes me sick to think that people still think a woman’s place is in the “kitchen,” so to speak. Also that competitive sports are not for women, that we should be on the sidelines cheering for our big strong men? I know so many strong, successful women whom I look to as influences. We are not being pushed out into work, and we are equals.
This man is stating that women shouldn’t be authority figures and that men should be the leaders of our society. Give me a break.
Speaking for the younger generation, I see this as complete ignorance. From my point of view, this man just seems threatened by smart, educated, independent women who do not want to be seen as just a homemaker but as an influence on this world and future generations.
