ND cities get grants for flood protectionBISMARCK, N.D. — Gov. Jack Dalrymple says the state is designating more than $750,000 in federal grant money to help Valley City and Cooperstown beef up infrastructure to guard against Sheyenne River flooding.
Cooperstown is getting $250,000 and Valley City more than $513,000. Dalrymple says the money will help provide long-term protection in the two eastern North Dakota communities.
Cooperstown will relocate city water supply wells. Valley City's project will help protect the sanitary and storm sewer systems from river bank erosion.
