Jamestown hospital escapee captured after 30-minute fleeAn escapee from the North Dakota State Hospital had about 30 minutes of freedom this morning.
Vance Mey, 18, a resident of the sex offender unit of the State Hospital escaped at about 9:30 a.m. and was captured by law enforcement officers about 10 a.m. in a ravine along the Buffalo Scenic Road.
Scott Edinger, Jamestown police chief, credits a tip from the public for locating Mey quickly and said he surrendered without incident.
