Protests offer a dose of realityWhile bringing my kids home from school on Wednesday, we encountered the States of Refuge abortion protesters. My 11-year-old daughter was quite distraught at the graphic images on the signs.
While I, too, was disturbed, I explained to her the violent nature of abortion. A “woman’s right to choose” is hotly defended in this country, in some states until the pregnancy reaches term. Perhaps the grisly truth of the dismembered fetus involved is more comfortably ignored.
Though some will perceive this as overtly offensive, that may be the dose of reality required to increase awareness of the harsh reality of “choice.”
