Kite Day takes off as wind picks upFARGO – The Fargo Park District’s 14th Annual Kite Day started slow this afternoon, but the breeze and spirits soon picked up.
Jeff Heisler, recreation specialist with the Park District, said 300 to 400 people participated.
The oldest kite flyer was 81 years old and the young-est was 2, according to Heisler, who said he was pleased the wind finally made an appearance.
He said he had feared this year would be a repeat of Kite Day 2011.
“Last year, there was no wind at all,” Heisler said.
