Bison softball clinches Summit League championship

FARGO – North Dakota State clinched the Summit League’s regular-season softball championship after sweeping two games against Southern Utah 5-4 and 5-1 on Friday at the Ellig Sports Complex.

With the conference title, the Bison secured the top seed for the Summit League tournament next week.

Krista Menke allowed three runs on two hits in 6Xc innings for the Bison in Game 1, while Brea Konz hit her fifth homer of the season.

In the second game, Whitney Johnson allowed just a run on seven hits in a complete-game victory for NDSU (34-18, 18-5 Summit).
