Much more to adoption storiesIn response to the adoption special that was on Sunday’s (April 22) front page:
I loved the article, and I think adoption is a great thing. My best friend is adopted, as well as my foster mother, who has also adopted children of her own.
Would you be interested in doing a story about all the children who are up for adoption in foster care (there are hundreds and hundreds of kids)? I grew up in foster care but was never adopted. The kids in foster care who are available for adoption long to have a family to call their own. Isn’t that what adoptive parents are looking for? To start a family of their own?
I understand that most couples want to adopt a baby. The problem is, there are more children available for adoption in foster care than there are babies. Such a story would bring attention to the hundreds of children in foster care waiting for their forever family.
