Soil and water group seeks supervisorThe deadline to file for the position of supervisor of the Clay Soil and Water Conservation District is June 5.
Clay SWCD has supervisor positions available in the following areas:
- Area I: Georgetown, Viding, Felton, Kragnes, Morken, Flowing and Oakport Townships.
- Area II: Hagen, Ulen, Keene, Goose Prairie, Cromwell and Highland Grove Townships.
- Area V: Hawley, Eglon, Skree, Parke, Humboldt and Tansem Townships.
Supervisors meet monthly to discuss the business of the SWCD, including state grant allocations to landowners, district conservation priorities, coordination with other local units of government and state agencies, and legislative priorities.
Supervisors do not receive a salary, although they do receive compensation for attending meetings and are reimbursed for expenses.
