Lt. Tory Jacobson says police were told that several adults had traveled to Moorhead from Minneapolis to have a good time and stay in a local hotel for a couple days. After a verbal argument between them, they were evicted from the hotel.
A short time later, 27-year-old Ardell Levert Jenkins allegedly punched 28-year-old Gerald Ayodeji Grandsberry multiple times in the face and took his cash, Jacobson stated in a news release. Grandsberry was later taken by ambulance to Essentia Health in Fargo for treatment of facial injuries.
Jenkins was taken into custody and transported to the Clay County Jail, where he’s being held pending the filing of charges of first-degree felony aggravated robbery, misdemeanor fifth-degree assault and providing a false name or date of birth to a peace officer.
