Fire damages home in rural Hawley, Minn.HAWLEY, Minn. – Smoke detectors alerted a rural Hawley resident to a fire that caused moderate damage to his home this morning, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office said.
The homeowner escaped the blaze uninjured, Deputy Eli Paluga said.
Firefighters were called at about 4:30 a.m. to the residence at 10662 280th St. S., southeast of Rollag in southeastern Clay County.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. It reportedly started in the basement, Paluga said.
