Stabbing death first homicide in Duluth since 2010DULUTH, Minn. — Duluth police are holding a suspect in the stabbing death of a 28-year-old man found dead in a downtown apartment.
A police statement says the renter of the downtown apartment called police just before 8:30 a.m. Friday and said he found a dead man inside his unit. Police say they arrested the tenant, a 37-year-old man, and are holding him on suspicion of second-degree murder. Police also arrested a 47-year-old Duluth man suspected of aiding and abetting second-degree murder.
The Duluth News Tribune reports that the homicide is the city's first since 2010.
Police say the suspects and the victim knew each other. The newspaper reports that the suspects both have extensive criminal records including convictions for assault and drunken driving.
The victim's name has not been released.
