Letter: Forum violates a commandmentI was dismayed to see The Forum use God’s name in a frivolous way in the April 19 editorial.
When Jesus instituted the New Covenant (New Testament), for Christians, the many Mosaic laws were replaced by Jesus’ radically new teachings. But the Ten Commandments came directly from the hand of God, and they stand until the end of time. And the second commandment states: “Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain.”
An apology to your readers would be appreciated, and it would also be a reminder to the many who unfortunately – like you did – use God’s holy name irreverently.
