Police looking for man who tried to stab victim in Moorhead fight

MOORHEAD – Police here are looking for a man they believed pulled a knife during a fight here earlier tonight.

The man is described as Latino, approximately 25 years old, about 5 feet, 5 inches tall with a stocky build and short black hair. He was wearing a green pullover shirt at the time of the fight.

At 8:42 p.m. officers were called to 2415 4th Ave. N. for a large fight where a knife was involved, according to a press release from the Moorhead Police.

Officers found the fight was between two people but several others were trying to break it up. A male suspect was able to get a hold of a knife and chased the victim down the hallway of the lower level apartment complex, trying to stab the victim.

The victim was punched in the face earlier in the fight but was not stabbed.

The victim – whose name was not released – was transported to a local hospital for treatment of the facial injuries.

The suspect fled from the scene before police arrived. Police are asking anyone with information about the assault or the suspect, to contact them at (218) 299-5120.
