Argusville mother arrested on suspicion of shoplifting with her childrenFARGO – A 35-year-old Argusville woman who was with her 15-year-old daughter and 4-year-old son was arrested Thursday afternoon for shoplifting several items from a Fargo Wal-Mart store.
When she was arrested, her 4-year-old was wearing stolen shoes, Fargo police said.
According to a police report on the incident:
The woman and her daughter concealed store items on their persons and in their shopping cart before leaving the store.
The items included a Blue-ray headset, police said.
In addition, new shoes were placed on the 4-year-old before the trio left the store in the 4700 block of 13th Avenue South, the police report said.
The mother, identified by police as Michelle Ann Sayers, was arrested and released at the scene after being cited for shoplifting.
The daughter was also arrested and released at the scene and she will be referred to juvenile court on suspicion of shoplifting, police said.
Police and social workers are looking into the family’s situation to make sure it is a safe one for the children, Police Lt. Joel Vettel said.
