Hazen man sentenced on child porn chargesFARGO — The U.S. Attorney's office in Fargo says a 32-year-old Hazen man has been sentenced to 24 years in prison on child pornography charges.
U.S. District Judge Ralph Erickson sentenced Michael Lynn Wieland on two charges of possession of materials involving the sexual exploitation of minors and five charges of receipt of materials involving the sexual exploitation of minors.
U.S. Attorney Timothy Purdon says the sentence is appropriate given Wieland's status as a multiple child pornography offender.
Wieland pleaded guilty in December to possessing more than 300,000 images of children engaged in sexually explicit conduct.
