Swift is one of Forum’s best

At least twice I have seen ignorant readers call Forum writer Tammy Swift a gossip columnist, and not once has The Forum corrected them, so allow me.

Swift has never been a gossip columnist. She is an intelligent, compassionate journalist who brings joy into the lives of countless readers. This humor columnist has been entertaining us for years. Other stories assigned to Swift, including the more serious topics, are well-written, informative and accurate. Want examples? The Titanic articles. Millie the Publicity Hound. Stories about addiction, supporting our troops, adoption, male suicide, domestic violence survivors, pet-sharing.

Reading anything authored by Swift is like sitting down with a well-informed friend in your living room. Her columns are clever, passionate and pertinent to daily life.

My husband and I look forward to Sunday mornings because we read Swift’s column and laugh together. I read it aloud and sometimes can’t get the words out, I’m laughing so hard. When I can again see through the tears, we invariably find a new phrase to adopt – when our dog Romeo barks, we know he’s seen a squeaver. We haven’t cleaned the garage yet because of our nasty perfectionation.

So thank you, Tammy Swift, for sharing your hilarious take on life. Please, keep it coming!
