Fargo man arrested after violent altercation sends one to hospitalFARGO – A Fargo man is in custody after a violent fight late Tuesday night that sent another man to the hospital.
Fargo police responded to a disturbance around midnight Tuesday at an apartment complex at the 1000 block of 9th Ave. S. where officers made contact with a man who was bleeding from his face and head, said Lt. Joel Vettel.
After speaking with the victim and witnesses, officers determined that the fight had started as fisticuffs between the victim and the suspect, 24-year-old Brandon Hackey, Vettel said. It quickly escalated after Hackey hit the victim over the head with a chair.
After separating, Hackey returned and kicked the victim several times in the head, and then threatened him and other witnesses with a Taser, Vettel said.
He said Hackey and the victim knew each other, and that alcohol and a previous disagreement were factors in the fight.
The victim was taken to Essentia Health for his injuries. Hackey was arrested for aggravated assault.
