Dog breeder facing animal cruelty chargesHASTINGS, Minn. – A Dakota County dog breeder is accused of drowning puppies in a bucket and another dog in a pool.
Dayna Kristine Bell, 61, is facing 16 counts of animal cruelty. She owns Bell Kennels and Farm in Sciota Township.
Three former employees told police they witnessed Bell mistreating dogs. A criminal complaint says Bell placed four puppies in a bucket of water shortly after they were born and drowned them last September. A worker also said Bell tied a rope to a dog and the other end to a cinder block and threw it in a pool.
