Kenneth Turner was charged Monday in Anoka County with attempted first-degree murder of an unborn child during a domestic assault.
According to the complaint, Turner entered his ex-girlfriend's apartment in Fridley early Friday and assaulted her over a three-hour period by punching her, kicking her and pulling her hair.
The complaint says Turner ordered the woman to lie on the bed and stomped on her stomach.
According to the woman, Turner said she “did not deserve the baby” and he “was going to kill it.”
Police say the woman's fetus apparently survived.
Turner remains in jail, with bail set at $500,000. He's due back in court May 14.
