Tornado drills set for Cass in April, MayFARGO – Cass-Fargo Emergency Management is sponsoring a series of tornado exercises in Cass County in April and May to prepare everyone for severe summer weather.
The scenario for the exercise is that a tornado impacts Casselton, advances to West Fargo and ends in Fargo, according to a press release.
West Fargo will activate its emergency operations center and exercise command and control functions at noon Tuesday and then exercise search and rescue operations that evening.
Casselton will exercise opening its EOC and search and rescue operations with Casselton Fire, Casselton Ambulance and Cass County Sheriff’s Department at 7 p.m. April 25.
Bethany Retirement Living in Fargo will exercise evacuation and shelter operations at noon on April 23. Fargo departments will exercise response operations April 26. Fargo Public Works will exercise debris management in conjunction with Clean-Up Week May 7-11.
Fargo and Cass County governments will test their tornado shelter plans on May 2 in conjunction with the North Dakota state tornado drill.
