Hornbacher’s has promoted Thomas Gonser to assistant store director in Moorhead and Mike Sunderland to store director for the Express location in Fargo.
Northwestern Mutual in Fargo hires three
Northwestern Mutual, Fargo, has hired Mary Jo Foster as investment operations assistant, Beth Halvorson as director of the client relations center and Dustin Herrmann as a financial representative.
Foster, a native of Coon Rapids, Minn., previously worked for Wells Fargo and has more than 15 years of financial experience.
Halvorson is a native of Hallock, Minn. She has a bachelor’s degree in marketing and business management and previously worked for BMO Harris Bank, Burnsville, Minn.
Herrmann is a native of Fargo and received a bachelor’s degree from Jamestown (N.D.) College in financial planning and wealth management.
Baker joins State Bank in Detroit Lakes
Nancy Baker has joined State Bank and Trust in Detroit Lakes, Minn., as a personal banker.
Baker, a native of Roseau, Minn., is a graduate of Bemidji (Minn.) State University. She has more than 20 years of banking experience and was previously employed at American National Bank in Detroit Lakes.
Kommer, Vistad join Blue Cross Blue Shield
Michelle Kommer has joined Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota in Fargo as vice president of human resources and development and Shauna Vistad has joined the company as manager of the special investigations unit in the compliance, audit and corporate ethics division.
Kommer had been with Otter Tail Corp., Fargo, for the last five years, most recently as senior vice president of human resources. She also previously served as a company attorney specializing in employment matters. Kommer earned a law degree from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, a master’s of management degree from the University of Mary, Fargo, and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Mayville (N.D.) State University.
Vistad previously worked as accounting supervisor for Sanford Health in Fargo. The Jamestown, N.D., native graduated from North Dakota State University with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. She is pursuing a master’s degree in business administration from the University of North Dakota.
Houston Engineering hires survey technician
Shawn Thomasson has joined Houston Engineering’s Fargo office as a survey technician.
He is a native of Cavalier, N.D., and graduated from the North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton with an associate’s degree in civil engineering and surveying.
Thomasson has 13 years of surveying and related experience.
Intelligent InSites hires project manager
Kari Cahoy was has been hired as a project manager on the services and implementation team at Intelligent InSites, Fargo.
Cahoy previously worked at Microsoft.
Northwest Truck, Trailer promotes Al Hotten
Northwest Truck and Trailer in Fargo has promoted Al Hotten to service adviser. He previously worked as a trailer technician and has been employed with the company for 12 years.
Hotten is also a certified Webasto technician and a Minnesota Department of Transportation inspector.
Applied Engineering hires design engineer
Lee Tollefson has joined Applied Engineering as a design engineer in the Fargo area.
He graduated from North Dakota State University with a bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering.
Three new hires at Phoenix International
Phoenix International A John Deere Co., Fargo, has hired Patrick Mattheis as a technician I, Adrienne Olson as communications manager and Paul Streifel as environmental health and safety representative.
Olson earned a bachelor’s degree in mass communications from Minnesota State University Moorhead and Streifel graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry.
Vatres promoted to residential specialist II
Anita Vatres has been promoted to residential specialist II at Centre Inc., Fargo.
Vatres attends Minnesota State University Moorhead, where she is pursuing a degree in criminal justice and sociology.
She has been with Centre Inc. for a year and a half and previously was a residential specialist I in the female unit.
Family HealthCare hires two employees
The Family HealthCare Center in Fargo has hired Jessica Kropp as a dental patient representative and Lori Block as a licensed practical nurse.
Kropp is a graduate of Minnesota State community and Technical College, Moorhead, with a degree in medical coding and insurance. Block graduated from North Dakota State College of Science, Wahpeton.
TMI Hospitality realigns staff roles
TMI Hospitality, Fargo, has announced new staff roles for multiple long-term company employees.
LeeAnn Butts, an employee of TMI Hospitality for 20 years, has been named manager of purchasing development. Throughout her career, she has held purchasing positions within the capital improvement and new construction departments.
Tonya Klein has been named director of internal audit. She has been with the company for 18 years and worked in the accounting department throughout the duration of her career and most recently held the position of manager of the financial statement prep and audit team.
Lisa Tschida has been named corporate accountant. She has been with TMI Hospitality for 16 years and started with the company in the financial statements department and was later promoted to team leader.
Becky Fell has been promoted to manager of property accounting. Fell has been with the company for more than 16 years and started in the accounts payable department and also held roles within the special projects team in the financial statements area. Most recently, she returned to the AP department as supervisor.
Lisa Rasmussen has been named manager of hotel accounting. She was the financial statement auditor for 12 years. Rasmussen has been with the company for 15 years, starting in the credit card and financial statements department.
Goose River Bank hires Scott Hovde in Mayville
Scott Hovde has joined Goose River Bank in Mayville, N.D., as ag banking officer.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in ag systems management and a master’s degree in agribusiness and applied economics from North Dakota State University.
Hovde has five years of financial service experience in ag, commercial, consumer and residential lending.
Laney’s Inc. announces three new hires in Fargo
Laney’s Inc., Fargo, has hired Amy Fosse as a construction administrative assistant, Paul Westerholm as a customer service representative and Bray Gardner as an HVAC service technician.
Fosse previously worked for a materials supplier focusing on commercial construction projects. Westerholm has many years of experience in sales and customer service and Gardner, who is originally from Knoxville, Tenn., has more than nine years of experience in the service and installation of HVAC systems.
Eventide hires Klinke as human resources VP
Janelle Klinke has been hired by Eventide Senior Living Communities, Moorhead, as vice president of human resources.
Klinke graduated from Bemidji (Minn.) State University and received a master’s degree in human resources and development from the University of Minnesota.
She previously worked as human resources director for Edgewood Management Group, Grand Forks.
Eichsteadt joins Fargo hospitality firm as GM
National Hospitality Services, Fargo, has hired Brendan Eichsteadt as a traveling general manager.
His current assignment is overseeing the Howard Johnson Hotel in Grand Forks.

Chrissie Dimmer has joined Christianson’s Business Furniture in Fargo as an interior designer.
Dimmer, a native of Wahpeton, N.D., graduated from North Dakota State University with a bachelor’s degree in interior design.

She has been with the agency since 2009 and previously worked for seven years at Red River Valley Seed Co.
Erin Conroy joins Fremstad Law Firm
Erin Conroy has joined the Fremstad Law Firm, 3003 32nd Ave. S., Fargo.
Conroy is a graduate of the University of North Dakota School of Law, Grand Forks, and was previously general counsel for Integreon Managed Solutions Inc. and a litigation associate at Jeffries, Olson and Flom, Fargo.
Conroy’s practice will focus on corporate and business law.
