Berg: Make a spring splash with wardrobe choices
One of the greatest things in life is that we often get second chances. A wise friend once said to me, “Ajit, you can toss your old hurts, bad habits, everything that is not working in a positive way in your life into the sea of forgetfulness and just make a fresh start.”
Let’s throw our dull, too big, too small, sad clothes into that sea and transform ourselves from the inside out. Say goodbye “old boring me” and hello “fun, fabulous” me.
Here are some head-turning spring trends you can easily work into your wardrobe to transform your style and you.
There is no holding back on color this season.
Practically every color in the rainbow – from bold hues in peacock blue and emerald green to tangerine orange and poppy red – are making an appearance.
But it doesn’t stop there.
Beautiful sorbet hues in pale yellow, mint green, mango and raspberry, as well as nudes, blush pinks and all whites, add a fresh, serene feel to the season.
Even neons aren’t off limits. So incorporate hot pink, bright turquoise and lemon yellow into your closet.
Fashion tip: Try a bright dress with nude heels. Nude heels tone down the brightness of the color of your dress and keep your look fresh and feminine. Another plus, nude heels elongate your legs.
Ajit’s pick: Colored skinny jeans. Go for a cool pastel in light coral and pair with a white T or a silk button down and tan flat sandals or high-heel wedges. It’s effortless and chic.
Spring is all about patterned tops, dresses, rompers and pants. Choose from pretty romantic florals, exotic tropical patterns and nature prints. Aztec mosaics and tribal motifs are also a big trend.
Ajit’s pick: Try the new high-low hem dress in a floral print paired with this season’s must have shoe: the espadrille wedge.
I love Paris fashion. This spring is all about nautical stripes in t-shirts, sweaters, dresses and fitted skirts.
Ajit’s pick: A striped dress with a thin belt and sandals or ballet flats is easy and stylish.
A chic jacket can be oh-so versatile this year, worn over dresses or with skirts, jeans and pants. The jacket should be soft, fluid and shorter in length. Choose from fabrics like leather, cotton, wool or silk.
Ajit’s pick: Pair a short, red jacket with a white T and skinny blue jeans and heels for a pretty yet classy look.
This season is all about being colorful, light and carefree, so what better time to throw out the old and bring in the new. Add some fun not only to your wardrobe but to your life!
