Weekend Watch: ‘Camino Real’Friday-Sunday
Jim Cermak’s tenure as the force behind Concordia College’s theater department comes to an end this year. The 2011-12 season has been a trip down memory lane, with the director picking his favorite plays. The run ends this weekend with Tennessee Williams’ “Camino Real.” The drama, which translates into “End of the Road,” is full of classic literary and pop culture references as the characters struggle with issues of aging and relevance. Theater alumni will gather at 5:30 p.m. Saturday in the Centrum to show Cermak how relevant he was in their lives. Show times are 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Frances Frazier Comstock Theatre, Concordia. Tickets are $4 for students and $7 for adults. (218) 299-3314.
