Lind: A blind man’s hunt for game continues
But with the help of others who help him aim his rifle, he has brought down a large number of animals and birds. He once even bagged an alligator (but in Florida, not the Upper Midwest).
Now, he’s preparing for another hunt. He’ll be heading for the Rockies along the Idaho-Montana border for a week in late May to hunt black bears and wolves.
He’ll be using his trusty 30.06 rifle.
Carey says his wife, Tori, is going along “to cheer me on.”
His limit is two bears and one wolf. Whatever he gets, he plans to turn them into wall hangings and throws for the bed.
“I’ve always wanted to do this,” Carey, 38, says.
And now, he’s about to.
