New walleye restriction in place for 6 southeast ND lakes

BISMARCK — State wildlife officials have implemented a new length requirement for walleye in six southeast North Dakota lakes.

The Game and Fish Department says the 14-inch minimum requirement is in effect beginning this season on Alkali Lake, Buffalo Lake and Tosse Slough in Sargent County; and Lake Elsie, Lueck Lake and West Moran Lake in Richland County.

Anglers who catch fish smaller than the minimum must release them.
