Pay attention to the languageClarence F. “Rick” Olson wrote in a March 21 opinion, “Essentially, with the law as it is, there is a government-protected monopoly in place for the independent drugstore owners of this state.” Isn’t that an oxymoron? Monopoly and independent drugstore owners? If they are independently owned and operated, then how can they then be a monopoly?
You can tell spin and propaganda by the word plays used to slant and distort the truth. You want a monopoly, let the outside national chains in. They will drive the small independent operators out of business. Then there will be a monopoly. The small local businesses will not be able to compete with the national chains.

in Kansas City a year ago.
