Cliches taint librarian story

Sam Benshoof’s hackneyed and cliche-riddled story (April 3) about librarians with non-standard hair color (itself a pale imitation of a New York Times article published in July 2007 that was roundly ridiculed in the literature and discussion lists of libraryland) can only serve as confirmation of the actual presence of the stereotypical booze-swilling, fact-averse, ink-stained reporter, an image made popular in movies of the 1930s and 1940s and the last place that Benshoof ever encountered a librarian prior to the creation of this article.
