F-M Derby Girls bookkeeper appears on theft charge

FARGO – The former treasurer for the Fargo-Moorhead Derby Girls made her first court appearance Wednesday on a felony theft charge that alleges she stole about $13,000 from the league.

Bail for Louise Jauss was set at $3,000 bond or 10 percent cash. She posted the $300 for her release.

Her next court appearance was set for May 3.

According to court documents, the Derby Girls estimated Jauss had stolen more than $21,000. An audit by Eide Bailly found $13,111.07 in unauthorized transactions, which mainly consisted of ATM withdrawals, the police report alleges.

If convicted of the Class C felony theft charge, Jauss faces up to five years in prison.
