Minot City Council to decide on airport workMINOT, N.D. – Design work on a new Minot airport terminal could begin this month if the City Council approves the work Monday.
The council’s airport committee voted last week to request approval to spend nearly $4 million to start the design work and do associated work. The Minot Daily News reports that federal money would fund most of the cost, with the local share of just under $200,000 coming from airport cash reserves.
Airport Director Andy Solsvig says the airport is in a position to build a new terminal using its own revenues. He has said the city needs a terminal three times the size of the existing one to handle growth.
