New beginning for BonanzavilleThe recent announcement that the Cass County Historical Society obtained $807,000 of funding necessary to complete the Lucien Barnes Pavilion is a critical step in the right direction. This facility represents a new beginning for Bonanzaville, as it will provide needed flexibility and the opportunity to generate revenue year-round.
This is a positive development for our community and the region, and it was certainly important to the many local contractors involved in the project. This is really a positive story of cooperation.
First and foremost, the Historical Society made important organizational changes at the board level, and with their leadership that positions the organization better for the future. The contractors, who waited patiently for this outcome, held together and cooperated with Bonanza-ville and the bank group so this could come together. The community banks worked side by side, with the strong support of USDA Rural Development, to make this happen.
State Bank & Trust is proud to be part of this effort alongside our funding partners, Starion Financial, Western State Bank, First International Bank and Choice Financial.
The Forum covered Bonanzaville’s challenges well back in 2011 and, thus, could have given more coverage to this positive community development. I encourage the public to come out and support Bonanzaville this summer and throughout the year as they look forward to a brighter future and a new beginning.
