Main Avenue projects topic of public meetingMOORHEAD – Moorhead Public Service and the Minnesota Department of Transportation will be completing separate construction projects within the Main Avenue corridor here this summer.
There will be an open house to address questions and concerns regarding these projects at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 500 Center Ave.
The MPS project involves replacing the water main beneath Main Avenue from Fourth to Eighth streets. Anticipated start date will be the end of April, with anticipated completion date July 1.
MnDOT will complete a construction project on Highway 10/75 between 34th and Eighth streets, on Eighth Street between Center and 40th avenues and on Main Avenue between Eighth Street and the Red River bridge. Crews will replace six traffic signals, improve pedestrian accessibility and install a crosswalk signal at the 10th Avenue intersection.
The project will include resurfacing Main Avenue between Eighth Street and the Red River bridge. Much of the work will require lane closures. Anticipated start date is mid-summer and the anticipated completion date is late fall.
