NFL great to speak on football’s lessons

FARGO – Oak Grove Lutheran School will host an evening with former National Football League star Karl Mecklenburg starting at 7 p.m. Monday at the Scheels Center for the Performing Arts.

Mecklenburg played with the Denver Broncos from 1983-1994. He rose from being a college walk-on and a 12th-round draft pick to a pro career that included six Pro Bowl and three Super Bowl appearances.

He will share what the NFL taught him about teamwork, dedication, courage and honesty, and how student-athletes can apply those lessons to their lives.

Mecklenburg is the author of “Heart of a Student Athlete: All Pro Advice for Competitors and Their Families.”

This free event is open to the public.

The Scheels Center is on the school’s north campus at 124 N. Terrace.
