Scouts Honors: Four earn Eagle Scout, Pfund marks milestone

Ryan Merkens, Austin Ganje, Brett Knudsen and Christian Ogaard have earned the rank of Eagle Scout and were honored at a Court of Honor Ceremony on March 11 at Grace Lutheran Church, Ada, Minn.

Austin is a senior at Ada-Borup High School and the son of Mike and Dawn Ganje, Ada; Brett is a senior at Ada-Borup High School and is the son of Jerry and Maureen Knudsen, Ada; Ryan is a senior at Ada-Borup High School and is the son of Jerry and Brenda Merkens; and Christian is a senior at Park Christian High School, Moorhead, and the son of Mark and Natalie Ogaard-Weber, Borup.

Their Eagle Scout projects included: Ryan purchased and installed three flag poles, including a paver base, at Tony Sipe Baseball Field in Ada; Austin built a meditation plaza of brick pavers next to Grace Lutheran Church; Brett designed and constructed a Frisbee golf course, including signage, at Bosworth Park in Ada; and Christian removed the existing rocks and shrubbery at the Dekko Community Center in Ada and replaced the landscaping with new plants, shrubs and rocks.

Also during the Court of Honor ceremony, Pat Pfund was honored for her 20th year as Scoutmaster of Troop 624.
