Border States Electric promotes Stall to VP

Border States Electric in Fargo has promoted Ryan Stall to vice president of information technology.

He joined the company in 1996 and has held various positions including network administrator, network supervisor, IT infrastructure manager and director of information technology.

Larson promoted to tourism sales director

The Fargo-Moorhead Convention and Visitors Bureau has promoted LeAnn Larson to director of tourism sales and event services.

She has been with the bureau since 2008 as a convention sales manager.

Larson earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration at North Dakota State University, where she is also pursuing a master’s degree.

KL&J announces two corporate promotions

Kadrmas, Lee & Jackson has promoted Steve Synhorst and Kris Bakkegard to division leaders. Both work in the company’s Fargo office.

Synhorst is KL&J’s government division leader. He has more than 28 years of project experience, with 23 years in the aviation industry. He has been with KL&J since 2008.

Bakkegard is KL&J’s internal services division leader. He has 17 years of transportation planning and design engineering experience and has been employed with KL&J for 17 years.

Erickson named HR, payroll director at NDSU

Colette Erickson has been named director of the human resources and payroll department at North Dakota State University. She has worked as interim director since 2010.

Erickson joined NDSU in 1995 as associate director of human resources. Before working in higher education, she spent 14 years at Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota, Fargo.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in music education from the University of North Dakota and a master’s degree in administration with a human resources concentration from Central Michigan University, Mount Pleasant.

Nelson hired as senior software engineer

Harland Financial Solutions in Fargo has hired Brian Nelson as a senior software engineer.

Nelson is a graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead and has 17 years of experience in software development.

He was previously employed at FuseSource, SanMar and Envision Telephony.

One promoted, three hired at Eide Bailly

Eide Bailly Technology Consulting in Fargo has promoted Amber Vogel to senior business technology consultant. The firm has hired Joe Clark, Dan Qualkinbush and Mike Severson as infrastructure support technicians.

Vogel has more than six years of business process improvement experience, She is a graduate of North Dakota State University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a human resources concentration.

Clark’s experience includes providing technical support in a high-volume call center for video, internet and phone services. He has an associate’s degree in computer networking.

Qualkinbush has more than 14 years of experience working in the IT field, including website and software development and support. He has an associate’s degree in computer science from Ivy Tech State College, Indianapolis.

Severson has more than five years of experience with modern technical languages, including XML, HTML, Java, Javascript, AXAL and SQL. He received a bachelor’s degree in bible, ministerial and youth ministries from Trinity Bible College, Ellendale, N.D.

NHS names Brown its regional manager

National Hospitality Services in Fargo has appointed Julie Brown to regional manager.

She will continue to serve as general manager at the Staybridge Suites in Fargo as well as overseeing the Staybridge Suites in Minot, N.D., Grand Forks and Columbia, Mo.

Implementation Specialists hires two

Implementation Specialists Inc., Hawley, Minn., has hired Jed Bontjes as a Microsoft Dynamics technical consultant and Michelle Aune as business development manager.

Bontjes attended Minnesota State University Moorhead. He previously worked as a consultant for Volt Information Sciences at the Fargo Microsoft campus.

Aune earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from Minnesota State University Moorhead and has more than 10 years of technology sales and marketing experience. She previously worked for a Microsoft solution development partner.

Boys and Girls Club hires gaming manager

Jon Jorgensen has been hired as gaming manager at the Boys and Girls Club of the Red River Valley/Youth Commission.

Jorgensen is a graduate of North Dakota State University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology, and has more than 10 years of experience in the gaming industry.

He is also a veteran and serves with the North Dakota Army National Guard.

Gould hired as industrial staffing consultant

Sharon Gould has joined Preference Personnel in Fargo as an industrial staffing consultant.

She previously worked at Whole Foods as produce manager.

Apex Engineering hires three engineers in Fargo

Apex Engineering Group in Fargo has hired engineers Blake Sander, Troy Hall and Michael Quamme in its water services market.

Sander is a licensed professional engineer and graduated from North Dakota State University with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. He previously worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and is finishing his master’s degree in chemical engineering at the University of North Dakota. He has 10 years of experience in the industry.

Hall graduated from Minnesota State University Moorhead with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and from NDSU with a master’s degree in environmental engineering. Hall was previously employed by Moorhead Public Service and has 20 years of experience in the water industry.

Quamme graduated from NDSU with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and is completing his master’s degree in environmental engineering.

Five new hires at RDO field support office

Katie Cox, Jacob Flaten, Sarah Halseth, Lacey Harrington and Beth Odegaard have joined RDO Equipment Co.’s field support office in Fargo.

Cox has been hired as lead payroll specialist. She is a South Dakota State University graduate with a degree in sociology. She joins RDO Equipment from Larson Manufacturing Co., Brookings, S.D., where she served as a work comp/FMLA specialist.

Flaten is an accounts receivable representative. He has a degree in business administration from North Dakota State University. He most recently worked at State Bank and Trust as the mutual funds specialist in the wealth management operations division.

Halseth also joins RDO as an accounts receivable representative. She is a University of Mary graduate with a double major in business management and organizational leadership. Her previous employer was U.S. Bank.

Harrington and Odegaard have been hired as marketing specialists. Harrington has a business administration degree from NDSU and previously worked in the marketing department at Drayton Foods.

Odegaard has a degree in marketing from Minnesota State University Moorhead. Her previous employer was Ironclad Marketing, where she served as an account manager and media buyer.

Fraser hires Peterson as child care supervisor

Heather Peterson has joined Fraser Child Care Center in Fargo as child care supervisor of the pre-toddler room.

Peterson received a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from Minnesota State University Moorhead.

Appareo Systems hires Fahey as assembler

Jared Fahey has joined Appareo Systems in Fargo as a manufacturing assembler.

He earned an associate degree in microcomputers and network technology from Minnesota State Community and Technical College and an associate degree in embedded systems from Rasmussen College.

He previously was employed at Drayton Foods, Fargo.

Randi Jacobson joins Houston Engineering

Randi Jacobson has joined Houston Engineering’s Fargo office as a computer-aided drafting and design technician.

Jacobson, a native of Wyndmere, N.D., graduated from North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton with an associate’s degree in architectural drafting and estimating.

TMI Hospitality in Fargo promotes one, hires one

Fargo-based TMI Hospitality has promoted Jason Francis to director of capital improvements and hired Cody Aldinger as help desk manager.

Francis has been with the company for four years and previously held the project coordinator position in the capital improvements department.

Aldinger previously worked at Ulteig in Fargo. He is a graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead with a bachelor’s degree in computer information systems and a minor in computer science.

Bethany on 42nd names social services director

Katie Schmidt has accepted the position of director of social services at Bethany on 42nd, Fargo.

Schmidt is a graduate of West Fargo High School and received a bachelor’s degree in social work from Concordia College.

Schmidt has worked for Bethany Retirement Living since 2009.

Hansen joins Essentia West Acres clinic

Nurse practitioner Sara Hansen has joined Essentia Health’s family medicine team at the West Acres Clinic in Fargo.

Originally from Beltrami, Minn., Hansen received a doctorate in nursing practice from North Dakota State University and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Jamestown (N.D.) College.

She has worked for Essentia Health as a house supervisor and birthing center resource nurse while also acting as an obstetric clinical teaching assistant at NDSU.

Her areas of practice include pediatrics, women’s health, obstetrics and adolescent health.
