ND attorney general says two township boards violated state lawBISMARCK (AP) — Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem says two township boards violated North Dakota's open meetings law.
Stenehjem says the board of supervisors in Elma Township in Richland County did not provide notice of meetings last fall dealing with contractor work. He ordered the board to hold a special meeting to recreate the meetings and record the minutes.
Stenehjem says Rye Township Zoning Commission members in Grand Forks County did not post notice of a meeting last fall in which they inspected the site of a proposed new residence before issuing a building permit. Stenehjem ordered the group to file a meeting notice that includes how to obtain a free copy of meeting minutes.
