Fargo man gets 4 years for molesting 5-year-oldFARGO – A Fargo man who pleaded guilty to molesting a 5-year-old girl was sentenced to four years in prison Monday in Cass County District Court.
Under the sentence given by Judge Wade Webb, 29-year-old Edmond Lamont Alexander will have to serve five years of supervised probation upon his release and register as a sex offender for at least 15 years, Assistant State’s Attorney Reid Brady said.
Alexander pleaded guilty Nov. 9 to a Class A felony charge of gross sexual imposition, which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
According to court documents, the victim’s mother reported that she found Alexander standing naked over the girl’s bed. Alexander claimed he and the 5-year-old, with whom he was acquainted, were playing a nonsexual “game” to help her sleep.
