Minot mayor says more staff needed for flood recoveryMINOT, N.D. (AP) — Minot Mayor Curt Zimbelman says the city needs more staff to deal with its flood recovery.
Zimbelman says the city needs to consider hiring more building inspectors and possibly more help for the engineering, public works and police departments. The Minot Daily News reports that the City Council has authorized the mayor to work with city staff to develop hiring recommendations for specific employee positions.
Last year's Souris River flooding swamped more than 4,000 homes and businesses in North Dakota's fourth-largest city.
