AAF-ND presents Addy Awards for 2011

The American Advertising Federation of North Dakota has presented Addy Awards for 2011.

Nearly 400 entries were judged by a panel of out-state judges who awarded gold and silver Addys to the most creative, original and effective work from across North Dakota.

North Dakota State University Publication Services received Best of Show for a single medium campaign promoting the NDSU Concert Choir. Other top honors included three Judge’s Choice awards: “Zorells Jewelry” television commercial created by Midcontinent Communications; “Where’s Your Mortgage,” a mixed/multiple media campaign created by Gate City Bank; and NDSU’s DCE Style and Graphics Standards created by the NDSU Distance and Continuing Education Department.

A judge’s citation for best art direction was awarded to the AAF-ND for “ADDYs in Wonderland.” There was a tie for student Best of Show: Amber Power, a student at Minnesota State University Moorhead, won for her “Power Creamery” ad campaign, and Katie Hamness, also of MSUM, won for her “Vox” poster series.

GETWith Design, one gold, one silver; GPIM, one gold, one silver; H2M, three gold, three silver; Hospice of the Red River Valley, one silver; Image Printing, three gold, one silver.

Ironclad Marketing, one gold; Jubae Design, two silver; Kierre Shaffer Design, two silver; Media Productions, one gold; Midcontinent Communications, one gold, two silver.

Newman Outdoor Advertising, two silver; North Dakota State College of Science, one silver; NDSU, six gold, eight silver; Odney, one gold, three silver; pHormula Photo Studio, one silver.

The Promersberger Co., three silver; Radio Fargo Moorhead, one silver; Sanford Health, four gold; Spotlight LLC, two gold; State Bank and Trust, one gold, three silver; Sundog, four gold, nine silver; Thuen Design, four gold, one silver; Triad Broadcasting, one silver; and Video Arts Studios, four gold, one silver.

Student winners included (all are from MSUM): Annika Nynas and Phillip Weiss, one gold, one silver; Meghan Sullivan, one gold, one silver; Morgan Davy, two gold; Sarah Leeman, one gold, one silver; Scott Lantgen, one gold, one silver; and Sophie Haren, two gold, two silver.
