Increased patrols planned Saturday

DETROIT LAKES, Minn. – The Minnesota State Patrol is planning increased patrols on Saturday in response to the St. Patrick’s Day holiday.

The last time the holiday fell on a Saturday, 527 motorists were arrested for DWI and all three traffic deaths were alcohol-related, the patrol stated in a news release. In a typical two-day period in Minnesota, 170 motorists are arrested for DWI.
