Hunters helped ‘jerky’ programRecently the West Fargo Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7564 wrapped up season six of “Jerky Worth Fighting For.” We would like to thank the hunters who donated deer to our program.
This year a total of $1,757.43 was spent on processing deer. Thank you Casselton Cold Storage in Casselton, N.D., and Maple Valley Lockers in Enderlin, N.D. We appreciate your working with us for all six seasons and the discounts you have given us.
A total of 14 deer were turned into jerky and sent out to seven separate soldiers serving our country overseas. A total of 37 boxes and about 425 pounds of jerky were sent for a total of $497.65.
Thank you for all donations to make this project successful. Donations came from the Fargo VFW Post, the Fargo AMVETS Post and some individual donors. The West Fargo VFW Post covered the remaining costs.
Thank you to our troops serving our country.
