Dilworth Farmer’s Market will returnDILWORTH – When this city decided to host a farmer’s market, finding customers was no problem – finding vendors was a little tougher.
“It’s difficult because we don’t have a lot of vendors in this area, and the ones we do have, many have already established a market in this area,” said Cheryl Stetz, a park board member.
The city hosted its first farmer’s market last year. The market was open Friday nights, on a prime location along Highway 10, Stetz said.
“We thought we would hit people going out to the lakes, but actually the citizens of Dilworth were the ones that most came,” Stetz said. “That was wonderful.”
As the Farmer’s Market heads into a second summer in Dilworth, Stetz said she is having trouble expanding the amount of vendors. She said she hopes to attract smaller local farmers who have not been a part of a farmer’s market in the past.
The market is scheduled to open in mid-July on Thursday nights until late September.
