Prosecutor: Deniger refuses to leave jail cell

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – An assistant Stearns County attorney said Saturday that Henry Deniger, the 49-year-old man accused of murdering his wife in Fargo, re-fused to leave his jail cell Friday to attend a court hearing.

Shan Wang said the hearing for Deniger, who was arrested in St. Cloud on Wednesday night and is currently being held in the Stearns County Jail, was rescheduled for Monday after the man refused to leave his cell and appear in court.

Deniger was arrested after the body of his wife, 52-year-old Kathye Deniger, was discovered stabbed to death in the couple’s south Fargo apartment.

According to court documents, Deniger allegedly confessed to the crime after being arrested.
