Woman sues Valley City, 2 police officers claiming she was hurt while handcuffedVALLEY CITY, N.D. - A federal lawsuit has been filed against the city of Valley City and two of its police officers, WDAY reports.
Cheryl Schultz is seeking $50,000 in damages, claiming she suffered permanent injuries while being handcuffed.
Schultz was arrested for drunken driving in March 2009, the lawsuit states. At that time, police couldn't remove one of the handcuffs and had to use an electric grinder to get it off.
Schultz says it caused second-degree burns.
