Weekend watch: Reception for ‘Return to Clonmacnoise’Sunday
It’s been a year since Rourke Art Gallery/Museum founder James O’Rourke died. The organization is honoring him not only as the man who collected art, but also made art, with a new show, “Return to Clonmacnoise.” The exhibit stems from an O’Rourke woodcut of a graveyard at the Irish monastary, Clonmacnoise. Artists were invited to create their own interpretation of O’Rourke’s legacy and Irish heritage. The finished works, by the likes of Dan Jones, Gretchen Kottke, Sue Morrissey, Carl Oltvedt, John Scott Postovit, Jerry Richardson, Jonathan Twingley, Jeff Weispfenning and more, hang at Rourke Art Gallery, 523 4th St. S., Moorhead. A reception, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday includes a 2 p.m. gallery talk. (218) 236-8861.
