Moorhead residents again receive deceptive mailings from repair firmMOORHEAD – Moorhead Public Service is cautioning its customers against solicitations being sent out by a home repair and water line firm, an MPS news release said today.
HomeServe, a company that has also sent out mailings to area residents on several previous occasions, has recently been asking MPS customers to pay $4.99 per month for water service line coverage, according to the release.
MPS General Manager Bill Schwandt said in the release his company does not endorse the service provided by HomeServe.
Dan Hendrickson, communications coordinator of the Better Business Bureau of Minnesota and North Dakota said HomeServe, which is headquartered in Connecticut, has had 142 complaints filed against it nationwide over the past three years.
“The mailings are of concern to us, and we’d just urge people to contact us if they receive them,” Hendrickson said.
